The O'Neills Premier League Final will evidently take centre stage at 7.00pm on Saturday evening in Beragh but other key finals scheduled.

Premier League Final...
Meenagh bids for 3-in-a-row against O'Neill
Shane O'Neill has enjoyed a remarkable run of form over the past 5 months and will be hoping that it all culminates in his first ever triumph in Tyrone senior handball this Saturday evening in his home club. O'Neill took on Carrickmore's Gary McCrory in Loughmacrory on Monday evening and, as anticipated, it proved to be a keenly contested battle. McCrory, who will be eyeing further All-Ireland glory at Under-21 level in 2007, got off to a flying start and actually led by 18-7 in the opening game. Incredibly, however, it was O'Neill who then took over the reins in this encounter and his altered gameplan was to prove decisive as he delivered 14 unanswered aces to claim the opener 21-18. He went on to claim his place in the final with a comfortable 21-10 win in the second and this maintain a 100% record after nine matches in this season's league series.
Due to a wet court, the second semi-final involving reigning county champion, Ciaran Meenagh (Loughmacrory), and 2001 champion, Niall Kerr (Brackey), was postponed until Tuesday night. When that contest did get underway in front of 100 spectators at Loughmacrory, those present were not disappointed as one of the best games in a long while ensued. Both players were well and truly on top of their games with explosive rallies possessing top class kill and pass shots as well as terrific retrieving play highlighting the quality of action on view.
Kerr won the opening game 21-18, having trailed 9-0 at a stage, before Meenagh bounced back to win the second 21-12. Meenagh stormed 5-0 ahead in the tie-break and despite a resillient comeback from the experienced Kerr, it was Meenagh who claimed a third consecutive final place on an 11-6 scoreline.
The final promises to be an absolutely cracking affair. O'Neill has a 100% record, without dropping a single game, in the dcampaign to date while Meenagh has not tasted defeat in the domestic league since it's inaugural running in 2004. There is sure to be a packed arena at Brackey's hugely impressive new court on Saturday evening as both players bid for the first senior title of 2007 in Tyrone prior to the big one - The Senior Championship, which commences one week later.
The action gets underway on Saturday evening with the O'Neills Division 1C League final. The semi-finals in that competition went down for decision last night also with Barry Devlin (Brackey) against Barney McAleer (Cappagh) and Conor Duff (Loughmacrory) taking on Caolan Daly (Carrickmore) in the other semi-final in Carrickmore. The winners of those two games will form the line-up for the curtain-raiser for Saturday nights O'neill League Finals showdown.
The O'Neill's Division 2 league final will go ahead in Loughmacrory on Sunday evening and will see the winners of last night's two semi-final matches go head to head for the 2007 honours. Joseph Kelly (Loughmacrory) and Eunan Donnelly (Loughmacrory) contested the first semi-final while Sean O'Kane (Loughmacrory) and Rya Kennan (Loughmacrory) met in the second semi-final of that event.
The Division 3 league semi-finals are scheduled this evening in Beragh at 7pm. First up will see Ciaran McElduff (Cappagh) take on Aidan Toner (Loughmacrory) while Niall Donaghy (Loughmacrory) will face Paddy Mullan (Brackey) in the second semi-final. The final of that competition will form the opening game of the double-bill finals programme in Loughmacrory on Sunday evening.

Minor Championship...
The O'Neills Minor Championship Final will take place in Loughmacrory on Monday evening (7pm) with two players from the host club contesting an intriguing affair. Brian Donaghy will square up to his doubles partner Conor Duff in what promises to be an exciting final involving two players with tall ambitions for the months ahead at provincial and national level in the grade. Donaghy overcame Sean O'Kane 21-6, 21-5 in the first semi-final on Sunday evening past while Duff defeated Carrickmore's Conor Grogan by 21-13, 21-10 in the second semi-final.

Masters Final...
The O'Neill's Masters Singles Final will also see a doubles partnership go head to head as Stephen Clarke and Anthony McElduff line out in the 2007 decider. McElduff defeated former champion, John McCullagh, in the semi-final at Beragh on Sunday evening and takes on former Senior champion Clarke in Loughmacrory on Monday night (8pm). Stephen Clarke has been one of the most successful players from the Red Hand county over the years and will be bidding to add a first Masters title to his haul, which includes 3 Tyrone senior singles championships.

O'Neill's Adult Championships...
The eagerly awaited O'Neill's singles championships for Senior and Junior will commence next week from Thursday 11th January 2007.
